Not self-interested. Not pandering. Not content for content’s sake. Not always available on demand. Not something you own. Not endless, mindless scrolling. Not an industry cheerleader. Not blindly accepting the status quo. Not about the award you paid for. Not permanent. Not predictable. Not about us. Not about you. Not opposed to change.  Not opposed to an even longer list of ‘not’s.

All other options are on the table.

Creativity doesn’t belong to any one person. It’s a universal force that passes through us briefly, arriving in a rush and disappearing just as quickly. It’s fleeting. Transient. Semi-permanent.

Initiatives like Semi Permanent aren’t a given, and they’re not the work of a select few. They exist because of the countless incredible people who have contributed, attended, and enriched these experiences over the last 20 years. To all of you, we’re deeply grateful.

And now, we go again in 2025. This time in Japan.
