Since its recent inauguration in 2019, the world’s leading non-fungible token event, NFT.NYC, has welcomed tens of thousands of attendees and hundreds of leading speakers and projects for several days of inspiration and collaboration to help drive the industry forward. As part of the 2022 event, held in the city through the summer, Semi Permanent was engaged by Web3 and PTE brands Perion, Zed Run and Human Park to concept, program and produce a satellite event that would be inclusive, genuinely engaging and that people would be talking about for months to come.
To symbolically fuse a physical experience with a tech-first future, we transformed the nostalgia-tinted interior design of New York nightlife establishment, The Flower Shop, with digitized iterations of its hallmark features. The one-night-only event holistically represented a ‘phygital’ takeover, bringing the concept to life in a surprising manner, celebrating the coming together of the Web3 community and those skirting on the periphery of this emerging movement.
In attendance were a raft of culturally-relevant figures that added clout to the event experience, including NBA player Ben Simmons, fashion designer Heron Preston, and DJs Maya Jama and Gonnie Garko, who each shared the decks with Preston throughout the event.
We worked with local makers to produce bespoke acrylic invites that digitised the iconic rose logo of The Flower Shop NYC in a hyper-coloured green hue. We also created limited edition headwear and other-wordly print collateral to help turbocharge the brand experience from start to finish.
Under Perion’s NFT Fashion offshoot of the business 2State We helped create the 3D animated NFT hat in conjunction with this We Discover created user interface: https://02state-git-desktop-landing-perion.vercel.app/perion-activation. With a limited run of 50 hats, party attendees could download the limited edition NFT hats directly into their meta wallets. Once the NFT had been downloaded you could redeem the NFT for a limited edition Perion x Flower Shop 6 panel hat.
