SOMM

SOMM

The School of Modern Meditation (SOMM) is New Zealand's first multidisciplinary school for the inner arts.

With teachers of different lineages (such as Buddhist, Yogic and Vedic) and styles of practices; SOMM offers a non-dogmatic approach to mastering our inner world to transform our relationship with the outer world. With daily live classes offered online in meditation, breathwork, EFT and sound practices; the intention with the school is to make these researched-based effective modalities an easily accessible part of daily life. SOMM Founder Claire Robbie recognised the importance of moving away from apps  and making sure people had access to practice IRT, with a real community, from anywhere in the world.
SOMM also has an in-person, inner city sanctuary in the heart of Auckland city. This oasis of calm is a hub for wellness experiences, creativity and ancient practices that have been reformed for modern life. With an in-house meditation-based psychologist SOMM endeavours to take away all the barriers to meditative practices so that as many people as possible can reap the benefits that come with consistency. It’s becoming a sought after venue for bespoke retreat days and truly meaningful experiences. It’s also a venue for sobriety-focused mindful events and the home of No Beers? Who Cares!
Whether you are new to meditation, or an experienced practitioner SOMM will have classes, courses and a community that are just waiting for you to access.
