Bjarke Ingels
Architect
BIG founder and architect Bjarke Ingels was part of the WIRED by Design (WxD) pop-up session at Semi-Permanent 2015 along with designer Natasha Jen, chef David Chang, and WIRED editor in chief Scott Dadich.
He founded his firm, BIG, after working at OMA in Rotterdam with Rem Koolhaas. Ingels also teaches at Harvard and Columbia, among other places. Among his works is a zero-emissions 11 million-square-foot resort and entertainment city project on Zira Island, which represents the seven mountains of Azerbaijan in Eastern Europe and has been cited as one of the world’s largest eco-developments.
