Ian Wong is a Partner with IBM's consulting services, leading the Digital Strategy practice for Digital Strategy & iX in Australia/New Zealand, based in the IX Studios | Melbourne. With extensive experience in Distribution, Banking, Telecommunications and Industrial Sectors in both Asia Pacific and North America, Ian has assisted many clients in their business transformations including Kiwibank, Australian Education City, City of Melbourne, Qantas, Myer, David Jones, Telstra, Campbell Arnotts, Walmart, PetCo, Nabisco, Black and Decker, and Smorgon Steel. In 2016, Ian was inaugurated into the IBM Industry Academy for Consumer Industries; a collection of IBM’s Industry Eminent employees from across the world.
Ian has led consulting projects that include Digital Transformation, Business Model Innovation, Supply Chain Transformation, Enterprise Supply Chain Process Design and Multi-Channel Retail. He has specific experience in the Banking, Food and Beverage, Manufacturing, Grocery, Telecommunications and General Merchandise retail industries. Most recently, he led the development of the Digital Strategy for Australian Education City. He has also led the IBM team in implementing David Jones’ (Australia’s 2nd largest Department Store retailer) Omni-Channel Retail platform, and has been closely involved in the day to day management of the IBM team in Myer’s (Australia’s largest department store) Omni-Channel Retail Transformation.
Prior to joining IBM, Ian held senior consulting roles with JDA/Manugistics and PricewaterhouseCoopers in North America and Asia Pacific. He has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
