Jo De Fina
Founder and Executive Producer ∙ OTTO
With a BA majoring in French, Genetics and Australian History under her belt, Jo’s career in production has taken her around the world, having lived and worked in London, New York, Sydney and her hometown Melbourne. 4 years in London saw her work with some of the most iconic companies and creatives and her time in New York saw her produce for Oscar-nominated directors as well as being ‘No 4’ at Droga 5, helping David establish the agency during its infancy.
Recently recognised as the best Creative Producer in Australia at the Women in Media Awards, Jo is resourceful, collaborative and a risk taker and her career has seen her work with some of the biggest names in the entertainment and advertising industries worldwide.
It is this background which Jo brought to the 50 Shades of No project, working with a small group in bringing the campaign to life; n entirely voluntary, pro bono initiative which was launched on IWD 2018.
Since then, the work has been shortlisted for the Cannes Glass Lion, and Jo has begun conversations with the UN, AFL and government bodies about scaling the project locally and globally.
Jo makes things happen.
She is also one of the only women solely owning and operating a TVC production company in Australia.
Jo lives in Melbourne in a house with a white picket fence with her husband, son and dogs, Otto and Dougal McDougal the Poodle (Dougal for short), 4 chickens, a turtle and a cat named Blue.
