Paul Cournet
Architect ∙ CLOUD
Paul Cournet (1988) is an architect and teacher based in Rotterdam. In 2022, Paul founds CLOUD, an international architecture, research and design studio.
After studying architecture in Bordeaux and Paris, Paul worked at OMA as a Senior architect between 2010 and 2021. At OMA, Paul worked on several projects currently under construction such as the future headquarters of SNCB*MNBS in Brussels, or now built including the MEETT exhibition and convention center in Toulouse (2020), Lafayette Anticipations the cultural foundation for Galeries Lafayette in Paris (2018), the Alexis de Tocqueville library in Caen (2017), and the Repossi flagship store in Paris (2016). Paul also worked within AMO, the think-tank branch of OMA. Projects Paul worked on for AMO include the Pierre Paulin Program exhibition at the maison Lemoine in Bordeaux (2019), the Palermo Atlas, an urban study for the art biennale Manifesta 12 (2018), exhibitions and set designs for the fashion house Prada, Monditalia exhibition for the 14th architecture Venice Biennale titled Fundamentals (2014).
Paul is also a guest teacher at TU Delft where he is currently leading the ongoing research ‘Datapolis’. The research will be published by nai010publishers in fall 2022 with a large exhibition in a cultural institution in the Netherlands. Paul has been a visiting teacher and lecturer in several universities across Europe. His work has been published in several international books and magazines.
