Kenta Kondo is a hands-on futurist. Combining strategic foresight, design, and mechanical engineering, he creates fictional yet functional future narratives for public discourse. He is the founder of JITABATA studio, a creative collective that designs raison d'être (reason to be) for businesses feeling lost during these times of absurdity. They combine practices of speculative design and systemic design to critique the past, observe the present, and craft the future.
Prior to JITABATA studio, Kenta worked for IDEO Tokyo as a Senior Design Engineer, where he designed future services, business strategy, and go-to-market products for multiple industries, including mobility, robotics, furniture, energy, and healthcare.
He currently lives in an experimental eco-village outside of Tokyo, redesigning rice paddies, hacking together bricolage furniture, and prototyping alternative ways of being.
