Rikke Gertsen Constein

Rikke Gertsen Constein is a CMF (Color, Material, Finish) Art Director and design researcher at Sony’s Design Center Europe, situated in Studio Nordic in Lund, Sweden, where she commutes between Copenhagen, Berlin, and Tokyo.

In her role, she operates at the intersection of design research, business strategy, and product development. Since 2016, Rikke has been an integral part of the core team leading the Sony CMF Framework strategy across Sony’s portfolio with a global team, which is currently seeing a super interesting transformation exploring the dynamics of color, material and finish (CMF) within physical and digital design, offering new tools of both physical and digital CMF design.

Her expertise and projects extend across various domains, including space design, automotive design, consumer electronics, fashion campaigns, and exhibition design. 

As a prominent voice in trend research and CMF innovation, Rikke has dedicated years to envisioning the future for Sony and beyond. In her insightful talks, she shares her craft, wisdom, and the lessons learned from shaping global trends, providing a unique glimpse into the methodologies that drive future-oriented design. 

Through the lens of "Trendencies & Futuring," Rikke delves into the art of multiplicity—the capacity to envision, predict, and design for multiple possible futures simultaneously. She examines the interplay between trend forecasting, material storytelling, and human interaction, demonstrating how creatives across various disciplines can enhance their ability to anticipate shifts, embrace uncertainty, and produce compelling, forward-thinking work.
