Takayuki Tanaka

Takayuki Tanaka is an accomplished fashion designer who honed his skills at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. During his studies, he gained valuable experience working at esteemed fashion houses such as John Galliano/Christian Dior, and Miki Fukai. Tanaka's talent was evident early in his career when he was named a finalist at the C&W/H&B Student Fashion Award UK in 2004, securing first prize in 2005. He continued to gain recognition internationally, becoming a finalist in the prestigious International Competition ITS#5 in 2006, the same year he graduated with first-class honors.

Returning to Japan, Tanaka further refined his craft, working for notable designer ateliers before co-founding the innovative fashion brand divka in 2011. The brand is driven by the philosophy of fostering communication between clothing and the wearer across time and space, a theme underpinning its experimental and forward-thinking projects.

Under Tanaka's co-leadership, divka debuted at the White Trade Show in 2011 and quickly rose to international prominence by becoming a finalist in the MANGO FASHION AWARD 4th Edition in 2012, showcasing work in Barcelona, Spain. That same year, divka was selected among the top Asian designers to present in Bangkok, Thailand. From 2013, divka expanded globally, participating in the TRANOI exhibitions in Paris and receiving the Governor of Tokyo Award at the Tokyo New Designer Fashion Grand Prix.

In 2014, divka was recognized as one of the world's most innovative brands by NOT JUST A LABEL. This led to an invitation to exhibit at ORIGIN Passion & Beliefs in Vicenza, Italy. Since the 2016 Spring/Summer collection, divka has been featured on the runway at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo.

Today, Takayuki Tanaka continues to elevate divka's international presence, regularly showcasing collections in Tokyo, Paris, New York, and Shanghai, further cementing his and the brand's status in the global fashion industry.
