Welcome

Tokyo Salone and its associated programs are places for thoughtful gathering, open exchange, and shared attention.

This guide exists to help everyone feel safe, respected, and at ease while participating. It is a simple outline of how we care for one another and the space we share.

What We Value

At the heart of these gatherings are a few shared commitments:

• Mutual respect
• Openness to difference
• Care for personal boundaries
• Attention to safety and wellbeing
• Presence, without pressure

You do not need to be perfect. You only need to be thoughtful.

How We Ask You to Participate

We ask all participants to:

• Treat others with dignity and consideration
• Be attentive to the tone and rhythm of conversations
• Respect sessions marked as off-the-record or private
• Follow guidance from hosts, staff, and venues
• Enjoy alcohol responsibly, where it is served

Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or unsafe behavior are not tolerated.

Consent and Boundaries

Consent matters, always.

• Please ask before touching, photographing, or recording others
• A clear “no” should be accepted without question
• Consent can change at any time, and that is okay

If you feel uncomfortable, you are always free to step away.

Food and Wellbeing

Some programs, including Nourish, may involve fermentation, alcohol, or experimental approaches to food.

• Please take responsibility for your own health and dietary needs
• You are never expected to eat or drink anything you are unsure about
• If you have concerns or need support, speak with a member of the team

Your wellbeing comes first.

Photography and Recording

Events may be documented through photography, video, or audio recording.

• Attendance assumes consent to being recorded
• Please refrain from personal recording or live streaming unless explicitly permitted

If Something Feels Off

If at any point you feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or uncertain, you are not alone.

Please reach out to:

• A nearby staff member
• A host or facilitator

We take all concerns seriously and handle them with care and discretion.

In Closing

Tokyo Salone is not a place to perform, compete, or impress.

It is a space to listen, to question, and to think together.

Safety and trust are created through the actions of each person present. Thank you for helping make this a place where that can happen.

Our Shared Commitment

Tokyo Salone and its associated programs exist to foster trust, curiosity, and meaningful exchange across cultures and disciplines. We believe the most generative conversations happen in spaces that are respectful, attentive, and safe for all participants.

This Code of Conduct applies to everyone involved in our ecosystem, including attendees, speakers, chefs, facilitators, partners, staff, media, sponsors, volunteers, and guests, across all formats, in-person and online.

Participation in any Tokyo Salone–curated program constitutes agreement to this Code of Conduct.

Our Values

We are guided by:

• Mutual respect
• Care for people and place
• Consent and personal agency
• Cultural and intellectual generosity
• Zero tolerance for harm

We ask participants to arrive with openness, humility, and responsibility for how their presence affects others.

Expected Behavior

We expect all participants to:

• Treat others with dignity, respect, and consideration
• Listen actively and engage thoughtfully, even in disagreement
• Respect personal boundaries, consent, and privacy
• Be mindful of cultural, gender, racial, and generational differences
• Follow venue rules, local laws, and safety instructions
• Respect off-the-record and Chatham House–style sessions when designated
• Consume alcohol responsibly, where applicable

Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are not tolerated, in person or online:

• Harassment, discrimination, or exclusion based on gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, age, body size, or appearance
• Sexual harassment, unwelcome advances, or inappropriate physical contact
• Verbal abuse, intimidation, bullying, or threats
• Hate speech or demeaning language
• Sustained disruption of talks, sessions, or shared spaces
• Unwanted photography, recording, or surveillance of individuals
• Sharing confidential or off-the-record information without consent
• Excessive intoxication or drug use that impacts others’ safety or experience
• Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern

Consent and Boundaries

Consent matters at all times.

• Ask before touching, photographing, or recording others
• Respect a clear “no” without challenge or pressure
• Understand that consent can be withdrawn at any time

Reporting Concerns

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, we encourage you to report it as soon as possible.

You may speak directly with:

• Event staff or organizers on site
• A designated host or facilitator
• Or contact us privately at: hello@semipermanent.com

All reports will be taken seriously and handled with discretion.

Enforcement

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to take any action we deem appropriate in response to violations of this Code of Conduct, including but not limited to:

• Verbal warning
• Removal from a session or event
• Revocation of access to current and future programs
• Removal without refund or compensation
• Involvement of venue security or law enforcement where necessary

There is no obligation to provide warnings prior to enforcement.

Retaliation

Retaliation against anyone who reports a concern or participates in an investigation will not be tolerated and will be treated as a violation of this Code.

A Living Culture

This Code of Conduct is not a formality. It reflects the culture we are actively building together.

We ask each participant to help uphold these standards, not only through their actions, but through care for one another and the spaces we share.

Tokyo Salone ならびに関連プログラムは、 人と人が安心して集い、率直に語り、深く聴き合うための場です。

このガイドは、皆さまが心地よく、安心して参加いただくための 基本的な考え方とお約束を、わかりやすくまとめたものです。

大切にしていること

私たちは、次のことを大切にしています。

• 互いを尊重すること
• 違いに開かれていること
• 無理をしないこと
• 同意と境界を守ること
• 安全であること

完璧である必要はありません。 ただ、思いやりと意識を持って、この場を共有してください。

行動について

すべての参加者にお願いしています。

• 相手を尊重した言動を心がけること
• セッションや対話の空気を大切にすること
• オフレコや非公開と示された場では、内容を外に出さないこと
• 会場スタッフや運営の案内に従うこと
• アルコールが提供される場合は、節度をもって楽しむこと

ハラスメント、差別、威圧、危険行為は認められていません。

同意と距離感

同意は、とても大切です。

• 触れる前、撮影する前には必ず確認してください
• 「NO」はそのまま尊重してください
• 途中で気持ちが変わることも、もちろん問題ありません

無理を感じたら、その場を離れて大丈夫です。

食事・体調について

Nourish や食に関わるプログラムでは、 発酵、アルコール、実験的な要素を含む場合があります。

• 体調やアレルギーの管理はご自身で行ってください
• 無理に食べる必要はありません
• 不安がある場合は、遠慮なくスタッフに声をかけてください

撮影・記録について

イベントでは、写真・映像・音声の記録が行われる場合があります。

• 参加をもって、記録への同意が前提となります
• 個人的な無断録音やライブ配信はご遠慮ください

困ったときは

何か違和感を覚えたとき、困ったことがあったときは、 一人で抱え込まず、すぐにご相談ください。

私たちの約束

Tokyo Salone および関連プログラムは、信頼、好奇心、そして誠実な対話を育むための場です。 最も価値ある対話は、人が尊重され、安全で、安心して存在できる空間から生まれると、私たちは考えています。

本行動規範は、Tokyo Salone のエコシステムに関わるすべての人に適用されます。 参加者、登壇者、シェフ、ファシリテーター、パートナー、スタッフ、メディア、スポンサー、ボランティア、ゲストを含み、対面・オンラインを問いません。

イベントやプログラムへの参加をもって、本行動規範に同意したものとみなされます。

私たちが大切にする価値

私たちは、以下の価値を共有します。

• 相互尊重

• 文化的・知的な寛容さ

参加者一人ひとりが、自身の存在や振る舞いが他者に与える影響を意識し、謙虚さと責任をもって関わることを求めます。

期待される行動

すべての参加者に、以下の行動を期待します。

• 他者を尊重し、敬意をもって接すること
• 異なる意見に対しても、耳を傾け、対話を重んじること
• 個人の境界、同意、プライバシーを尊重すること
• 文化的背景、ジェンダー、世代、価値観の違いへの配慮
• 会場規則、法令、安全指示の遵守
• オフレコ、チャタムハウスルールが適用される場での守秘
• アルコール提供がある場合の節度ある行動

許容されない行為

以下の行為は、いかなる形でも認められません。

• 性別、ジェンダー表現、性的指向、人種、民族、国籍、宗教、障がい、年齢、体型、外見等に基づく差別や排除
• セクシュアルハラスメント、不適切な接触、望まれない言動
• 言葉による暴力、威圧、いじめ、脅迫
• ヘイトスピーチ、侮辱的表現
• セッションや空間の秩序を継続的に妨げる行為
• 同意のない撮影、録音、監視行為
• オフレコ情報や非公開内容の無断共有
• 過度の飲酒や薬物使用により他者の安全や体験を損なう行為
• 問題提起や通報を行った人への報復

同意と境界

同意は、常に尊重されるべきものです。

• 触れる前、撮影や録音を行う前には必ず確認すること
• 明確な拒否を尊重し、理由を求めたり圧力をかけたりしないこと
• 同意は、いつでも撤回できることを理解すること

問題や懸念の報告

本行動規範に反する行為を受けた、または目撃した場合は、速やかにご報告ください。

以下の方法で受け付けています。

• 現地スタッフや運営チームへの直接の申し出
• ホスト、ファシリテーターへの相談
• メールによるご連絡：hello@semipermanent.com

すべての報告は、慎重かつ誠実に取り扱います。

対応および措置

当社は、本行動規範に違反する行為に対し、当社の裁量により以下を含む措置を講じることができます。

• 注意または警告
• セッションまたはイベントからの退場
• 当該イベントおよび将来のプログラムへの参加資格の剥奪
• 返金なしでの即時退場
• 必要に応じて、会場警備または関係当局への連絡

事前の警告を行う義務はありません。

報復行為の禁止

問題提起、通報、調査協力を行った人物に対する報復行為は、重大な違反とみなし、厳正に対処します。

生きた文化として

本行動規範は、形式的なルールではありません。 私たちがともに育てていく文化そのものです。

参加者一人ひとりが、自身の行動を通じて、この場の安全性、信頼、対話の質を支えてくださることを願っています。
